Craft project Inspiration: keep a Journal of creativity and to spark new ideas Craft

Exemple list

Craft Project - How To Make Fashion Doll Furniture Out Of Plastic Canvas

Do you have a little one who loves to play with 11 1/2" tall fashion dolls? Does you little one need some new furniture to go along with her dolls? If so, I have an easy to make craft project to share with you today that involves using a skein of acrylic yarn, needle and some 7 count plastic canvas. This project is great for beginners and works up in just one afternoon.

You can make just about any type of fashion doll furniture that you would like by using standard plastic canvas and some yarn. To design your own patterns, simple sketch out what you would like to make on graph paper and then cut out your graph paper and use it as a template.

Supplies Needed:

2 sheets 7 count plastic canvas (clear or a color to match yarn)

1 skein acrylic yarn

plastic canvas sewing needle

sharp scissors

To Make The Chair:

1 seat - 19 holes by 19 holes

2 seat backs - 19 holes by 22 holes high

4 leg pieces - 19 holes by 18 holes high

note - you can leave your leg pieces in a solid block shape or cut them to resemble a block style letter A, the choice is up to you.

Stitching: I did a simple tent stitch but I did it over 3 holes at a time going top to bottom to make vertical rows. I used 4-ply Acrylic yarn. You will first stitch your seat, seat backs and then the legs, leaving all outer edges unfinished. Once done, place the two seat backs wrong sides together and stitch them together using a whip stitch but leave the bottom edge unfinished. Stitch three of the chair leg sections to the seat. Place the seat back and fourth leg section together and whip stitch to the remaining unfinished edge of the seat. Finish up by stitching around the legs and openings so that your chair has no unfinished edges.

To Make The Side Table:

table top - 19 holes by 19 holes squared

8 legs - 3 holes wide by 18 holes tall

Stitching: I simply used a tent stitch and stitched the top of the table and then the eight legs. Once done I stitched all eight legs to my table by joining two leg pieces at each of the table's corners. After they are attached using a simple whip stitch, just go around and whip stitch all of your unfinished edges. When stitching the pieces together, just envision your standard look side table with a flat top and four legs.

To Make The Accent Rug:

rug piece measures 22 holes by 22 holes squared

Stitching: You can use a tent stitch or a scotch stitch to add texture and interest to the accent rug. Once you decide on the stitch you want to use, work the center first and then finish up by whip stitching around your outer edges. You can leave the edges plain or add a 1/2" fringe to them, that choice is up to you.

Craft Project - easy to make beaded snowflake ornaments

If you are looking for a craft project that you can do with older children, I think that this will depend on your needs. You will need to go to your local craft shop and buy a few articles, but other than that, they are quite simple.

We made 14 of these ornaments and it us less than $10.00 because I already had paint and glue the hand. It is a great project to do with children aged 5 years and with the supervision of a more adult. We love to do this project with school groups, scout troops and youth groups in the Church. If you make the project as a group project, you will need to have a few adults on hand to help.

Here are the materials you need.

1 "diameter flat round disc back in the form of cork"

Acrylic paint to match your colors of beads one

cheap brush

all-purpose craft liquid fast drying of glue

1 tri-billes plastic package

2 planes back findings of jewels strass

You will have to do this step until your snowflake has 6 shelves, let dry thoroughly before moving on to the next step.

Washi Tape Craft Projects

So, you are thinking about purchasing some washi tape or you already have some of this versatile craft product and are wondering what in the world to do with it? Well, I have a few fun (and totally cheap) suggestions for you!

The first and most obvious way to use washi tape is use it as an embellishment in your scrapbooking adventures. Washi tape is excellent for papercrafting and can be used to adhere items to your pages. It can also be used as a ribbon or paper strip replacement, and is so much easier to use! Just rip a piece off and place it where you want it to go. There is no messy glue to fight with, and removing it to reposition is a breeze. There are so many different colors and designs, you are sure to find something that will perfectly match your project.

Secondly, you can use washi tape to decorate your wood crafts. You can find a super inexpensive plain wood photo frame at your local craft store, dollar store, or Walmart and use washi tape to give it life. This is an easy way to create custom frames for you and your family, or to give away as gifts. Making these custom frames is very simple. All you need are a few of your favorite rolls of washi tape and the wood photo frame ($0.99 at Walmart.)

Take one roll of washi tape and tear off a piece (or cut it using scissors if you prefer a clean cut) and place it on the photo frame.
Take another, different roll of washi tape and tear off a piece and place it on the photo frame.
Continue this process until your frame is covered in tape. You can allow some wood to peek through if you desire, or completely cover it in tape.
Don't worry if you "mess up" on your tape placement, it is very easy to remove the tape and replace it.

You can also use this tape to decorate wood letter blocks. This is a simple and easy way to personalize these blocks without a lot of time, effort, and mess. You can approach decorating the letters the same way you would the photo frames.

A third great masking tape craft idea is to use these tapes to decorate plain glass vases. Plain vases can be found at your local Dollar Tree for just a buck! I recommend purchasing various shapes and/or sizes and using the finished product to add a custom, designer touch to your room. Decorating the vases is a cinch. I recommend using scissors to create a clean cut on the washi tape. You will want to cut enough tape to wrap around the vase (horizontally) or enough to hide the tape ends by wrapping them over the lip/base of the vase (vertically).

Fourthly, washi tapes make a great package decoration. You can use them to gift wrap a package. This works especially well if you have a plain colored paper. You can also use them to decorate plain white gift boxes. Additionally, if you are mailing a package this makes an adorable decoration to add to the box (just don't use it in place of packing tape, it rips too easily!).

Lastly, and although not necessarily a craft project, you can use it to adhere important notes to your wall/desk without worrying that it will damage the surface. You can write on washi tape, so it makes a really cute way to label things. Personally, I have used washi tape to label seed pods for my indoor garden which made it that more colorful and cute.

There are so many uses for this awesome decorative tape that it has become a staple in any papercrafter's arsenal. There are a myriad of ways that it can be used, and I am sure that once you start using it you will never want to be without a roll!

Craft Project - How To Make Beaded Crosses Holiday Ornaments

Every year when the Christmas holiday rolls around, I love to sit down and make homemade ornaments to use on my tree, garlands, wreaths and as package toppers. This is a great project to make with older children with some adult supervision. I often make these with church youth groups, scouting troops and school groups.

You can make them any size that you desire by increasing the length of your crafting wire and by purchasing additional beads. The finished size of the ones we made, measure approximately 2" wide by 2 1/2" long.

Materials Needed For The Project

3" piece gold metallic craft wire

2 1/2" piece gold metallic craft wire

4" piece gold metallic thread (hanging cord)

1 package 4 mm gold metallic beads (metal or plastic)

1 package 4 mm faceted plastic beads

1 package tri-beads (plastic)

sharp scissors

12" long ruler

needle nose pliers

(optional) all-purpose liquid craft glue

When it comes to selecting beads for this project, you can use complimentary colors or exact opposites.

Step 1: Measure out the lengths that you will need from the spool of gold wire and cut off the required length. Place the shorter wire 1/3 of the way down on the longer wire and twist it around to secure it into place...to form a cross shape.

Step 2: Starting at the top, slide on a faceted round bead, a tri-bead and another round bead. Finish up with sliding on a gold metallic bead at the end. Using needle nose pliers, twist the end of the wire into a small loop to keep the beads from sliding off. Trim wire end if necessary with scissors.

You will want to repeat step 2 on the two shorter ends, leaving the bottom of the cross for the next step.

Step 3: To finish the bottom of the cross, slide on a round faceted bead, a tri-bead, another round bead, a tri-bead, a faceted bead and finally the gold metallic end bead. Twist the wire into a loop to keep the beads on the wire.

Step 4: Cut a 4" piece of gold metallic cord and thread it through the top wire loop to serve as a hanging cord for your ornament.

Tips: If you find that the beads are sliding around too much and you want them to stay in place on a permanent basic, you can squirt a small dab of glue onto the bead before threading it on the wire pieces. If you don't want to hang them on your tree, you can use suction cups and hang them up on your windows and mirrors.

Choose the Types of wood for your craft projects - Craft Supplies makes all the difference

For the type of creation which is still doing arts and crafts projects, they know that they must choose what type of wood to be used with care in the design of their latest project. There are all types of wood that can be used, and different wood has different types of grain, texture, consistency and flow makes a big difference. Later when they add paint or dye show of things that may not have seen before. It can sometimes make or break a project.

A knot in the wood can often be restricted during the creation of certain types of things, such as a House of the bird, or used for Visual atmosphere of the work completed. Also, particular attention should be given to the wood density and hardness. Pine could be a great thing to make bird houses but if this House of the Tomb bird it may divided by half, and the weather could get her. If the wood is dense, it is very difficult to nails in it the hammer or fix anything for it.

If the grain is too bumpy, it may be difficult for something that sticks to him, or in some cases, it might be easier in that the second material is. Another issue is the weight of wood. If you build something to be light, naturally you want to use the balsa wood. However, it must also be strong you may have to go with a plywood or pine.

If your project is to support sometimes, it makes sense to use a plank of fiber post if it is made for an internal project that will not withstand the elements. In some cases, it makes sense to use exotic wood with high density would like teak.

Nevertheless, what wood you choose for any project that you do, it is logical to have a good amount of various types of wood already in hand, you choose how to go on your project. Please consider this.
