If you are looking for a craft project that you can do with older children, I think that this will depend on your needs. You will need to go to your local craft shop and buy a few articles, but other than that, they are quite simple.
We made 14 of these ornaments and it us less than $10.00 because I already had paint and glue the hand. It is a great project to do with children aged 5 years and with the supervision of a more adult. We love to do this project with school groups, scout troops and youth groups in the Church. If you make the project as a group project, you will need to have a few adults on hand to help.
Here are the materials you need.
1 "diameter flat round disc back in the form of cork"
Acrylic paint to match your colors of beads one
cheap brush
all-purpose craft liquid fast drying of glue
Sharp scissors
6 (1 1/2 "long") straight pins with little heads pearl-style
Plastic 4 mm package 1 round of beads faceted
1 tri-billes plastic package
2 planes back findings of jewels strass
4 "gold coin metal cord (hanger)"
old newspapers
several paper towels
water dish
Note: Since you'll be doing a small painting, set several layers of old newspapers on your work surface. Use paper napkins and dish of water to clean your brush.
Step 1: Paint your front side and the sides of your cycle of cork and leave to dry for 15 minutes before it laminated to paint in the back, and then let it dry for 15 additional minutes.
Step 2: Thread a round Pearl faceted, a tri-cordon and another faceted round beads on your PIN right up until you have a total of 5 pearls on your PIN. Soak the sharp end of the PIN in liquid glue versatile craft and jab the PIN in the side of your disk of Cork. You will have to do this step until your snowflake has 6 shelves, let dry thoroughly before moving on to the next step.
Step 3: Using glue liquid craft, join a rhinestone in the Centre of your Cork on each side, we have used clear ones with little gold - tone sunglasses. Using a 4 "exhibit of metallic gold cord, tie it around one of your rays with a node to form a loop for hanging."
Let your snowflake ornaments dry for a few hours. Once they are dry, you can hang on the tree of your vacation on the crowns on garlands or buy some suction cups and they stick to your Windows and mirrors.
